Cosmos
Living as terrestrial beings, humans often think of nature as linear scenes spanning horizon to horizon, bountiful with greenery and organisms of every form. A wider reality was revealed when mankind began to look upward, where civilizations contemplated a universe outside of our familiar reality but one still connected to nature, albeit a different form. On a planet rich with life, humans now discover oceans of cosmic emptiness, stellar objects incomparable in size, yet barren, lifeless, remote, and yet familiar. Nature must be redefined in that context. These paintings depict a wide array of themes with this contrast in mind and mankind's attempt to access them.
