Sticks & Branches
Like rocks, sticks serve as a model representation of nature and the sinusoidal forces moving and shaping the environment. While rocks are mineral in form, sticks are biological and being so, they have undergone a transformation that stones and rocks cannot. They have passed from living material into death. Sticks, like stones, are broken remnants shed from the parent form. They are the discarded, dead, limbs which have been given new purpose through their material use. They become tools, weapons, sources of construction, ornamentation, and even fuel, thus enriching and sustaining other life. The work therefore explores the process of life and decay, organization and entropy, followed by re-ordering and rebirth.
